The goal of AFSEP, French association of separation sciences, is to promote physico-chemical methods of separation in all fields of activity and to contribute to their development, to encourage exchanges between people from the public and private sectors who design, develop, use and build instruments for them, to promote initial and continuous training in separative sciences and the professional integration of young graduates in this specialty.

AFSEP is composed of six regional sections, well spread over French territory, and two national thematic groups (CZE and FFF); they propose, per year, 2 to 3 one-day meetings on topics related to separation sciences defined in advance by their management committee. AFSEP is also composed of a Junior Members Club that organizes at least one day meeting per year too (summer course, workshop...).

Finally, AFSEP is also commited to organize National or International Symposia in separation sciences such as the French speaking conference "Sep" held every two years in Paris, HPLC 2003 ( Nice), ISC 2004 (Paris), and ISC 2018 (Cannes-Mandelieu).
